Thanks to Carol Pickett for supplying the following picture, which she found amongst her late aunt, Joan Hawkins, possessions. Joan Hawkins was a landgirl based in Peterborough during World War 2 and Carol suspects that the photos are from approximately 1946 and also that Joan knew one of the contestants. The back of this photo reads, "One of the finalists in the competition was Miss Ruby Ayes of 35 Tower Street, New Fletton, Peterborough who was chosen as Holiday Princess of East Anglia".
