This had been completely redeveloped in the early 90s, making it even better than the new funpool Butlins built before-hand. After being taken over by the council the pool reopened briefly with new pumps but bad weather and problems with the new pumping system meant that it closed again shortly afterwards. The pavilion is now rusty and flapping - the wooden decking for this is full of holes. Pool water is full of rubbish (including broken sun loungers) and thick green slime. Poolside tiles have lifted in places. The water-slides are faded and green. The cost of installing a new water main supply and also suspected electrical/underground pipe problems that have developed since closure make the prospect of reopening even more unlikely.
