A selection of photos from Hafan-y-Mor, the Haven all-action holiday park which we all know better as Butlins Pwllheli. The Haven redevelopment resulted in the demolition of many of the old Butlin chalets and over 450 static caravans now occupy the site. However nearly 200 chalets still exisit (some not in use) along with 92 lodges, all of which date back to the Butlins era. Half board accomodation is also still available, as is self catering. Most of the main buildings were torn down but some were retained although the familiar green asbestos roofing has been replaced with aluminium and many of the old windows have been filled in (some outlines are still visible). The Haven development also included some major investment in trees and shrubs and the original 1940s rock gardens are still maintained.
