Thanks to Gary Holyland for supplying these photos which show the state of the former Ocean Hotel in April 2009. Gary tells us that as the front part is a listed building, that has to remain the same. It had been kept under wraps for some months but the scaffolding has been coming down over the last couple of weeks so Gary decided to pay a visit and he thinks that it looks very nice. The buildings at the back of the hotel have been demolished and some flats have been completed there whilst others are still being built. The old Butlins car part has also had flats built on it which are occupied.
