In addition to their camps, Butlins also used to own a number of hotels. The hotels didn't have the same selection of activities as the camps but most of them still offered a selection of bars, a theatre, swimming pool, competitions and of course the Redcoats. They were all sold in 1998. Click on the links below to view more details and pictures (where available) of each hotel. Feel free to send any further information and pictures of the Butlins hotels to contact@butlins-memories.com
In the late 1940s, hotels were also opened at two of the holiday camps. The Ingoldmells Hotel at Skegness and the Heads of Ayr Hotel at Ayr. Both have since closed. Billy Butlin also acquired a couple of hotels in the Bahamas in the late 1940s and after retiring bought more hotels on the island of Jersey during the 1960s/70s.
More recently, the Shoreline Hotel opened at the Bognor Regis camp in 2005 and was followed by the Ocean Hotel, also at Bognor Regis, in 2009.
