Throughout the 50's & 60's, female holidaymakers at the camps participated in daily sessions of Keep Fit culminating in a display on the final day of their holiday. Following their return home, they were encouraged to join regional teams in the major cities throughout Britain which resulted in regular features at the larger football and cricket grounds. They then became known as the Butlin Young Ladies Keep Fit Display Teams.
The whole scheme was organised by Captain T. J. Bond M.C., who was Director of Physical Culture in the Butlin organisation from 1936 until his retirement in the mid-60's.
