A poem by Mick Partridge Back

Thanks to Mick Partridge for supplying this poem. Mick told us, "I wrote this poem whilst I was at Filey in 1983, a Redcoat working for the one and only Rocky Mason. Love to all Reds from 1983."

When I'm sat alone on winter nights, with music low and sombre lights,
I will return to this place of dreams, etched in my heart or so it seems,
Faces of friends will surely appear, through eyes so glad yet full of tear,
Thoughts of days that seemed untrue, we laughed, we cried, with friends anew,
We knew the joy and sadly sorrow, we loved today but feared tomorrow,
So soon to come and end our games, with remembered faces forgotten names,
And so I'll sit and dream awhile, and through the tears I'll find a smile,
I'll hope and pray that just a few, took thoughts of me home with you.
